How you can support ACA...

For less than $1 a day you can be a hero to a classroom of children. $25 a month will provide a year of heart education for 25 students. If those 25 children each teach 5 others about living a kindness lifestyle through an act of kindness and those 125 do the same and so on, very soon everyone in the entire world will experience kindness and enjoy a bit of happiness.

Educators Say

Teen girl readsWayne King, Principal, 6th- 12th Grade Secondary School
“Basically the vision for Operation Hedgehog stems from the idea of creating awareness and appreciation through our curriculum. It’s been a marvelous connection on our campus. It has made themes within those books relevant to what we’re doing. And it has in many cases helped with the culture of our campus. It has been a profound partnership for the last year or so. It works…”

Cynthia A. Williams, Principal, St Johns Technical High School
“The program has created an awareness and appreciation of others on overcoming obstacles. This awareness has created a culture of achievement and we are grateful to have Operation Hedgehog at St. Johns Technical High School.

The year before we implemented Operation Hedgehog at St.Johns Technical High, over 400 referrals were earned by our 160 students. Two years later, only 48 referrals. A nearly 90% improvement. I highly recommend Operation Hedgehog.

Ms. M.B., Teacher, Alternative High School “I am so thankful for the opportunity of having the Operation Hedgehog program in our school . The Life Lesson- teacher guide with goals and activities for students is so constructive and helpful. Our students are so fortunate to benefit from all this knowledge, positive principles, and great values for everyday living.”

Glennette Tilley-Turner, Author and Guest of Honor, Junior High School Event
“’It was rare and wonderful for the students to form a receiving line and to look me in the eye, give a firm handshake, and introduce themselves. In doing so they honored me. As I shook each hand I could see that every student felt a sense of his or her own significance–or as Dr. Martin Luther King expressed the feeling, a sense of “Somebodiness.”’

Dr. Saryn Hatcher, Principal, Junior High School
“I was very pleased with the information that was presented in a student centered manner as well as age appropriate.” Even months later… “Teachers commented students were more respectful.”

Dr. Ruth Reimer, Principal Elementary School “The results were amazing as the Precious Not Prickly program impacted our whole school community! Parents reported that especially during our two full weeks of “Random Acts of Kindness”, the behavior of their children improved at home and they were also doing more kind things for their family members. At school, the improvements were equally impressive. In the area of behavior/discipline, the number of students who received referrals decreased by 80% from the year before and the number of suspension days decreased by 67%. Improving attendance was also a goal of ours and during the time the program was piloted, there was a 58% decrease in unexcused absences.
We are excited to continue the program for next school year and hope to see even better results especially in the area of student learning gains. I highly endorse the program to any elementary school…!!”
