How you can support ACA...

For less than $1 a day you can be a hero to a classroom of children. $25 a month will provide a year of heart education for 25 students. If those 25 children each teach 5 others about living a kindness lifestyle through an act of kindness and those 125 do the same and so on, very soon everyone in the entire world will experience kindness and enjoy a bit of happiness.

AMERICAN CIVILITY LEADERSHIP – The core leadership team (key board members) of the American Civility Association is as follows:

Amy Barnett, President

Mrs. Barnett has a varied background in television production and nonprofit development including communications, fundraising, public speaking and education. She is a well-known community leader and organizer.

Bill Barnett, Vice President

Mr. Barnett is a successful business owner in the Jacksonville area with 47 years of experience in retail management and for profit ventures.

Amelia Day, Secretary

Mrs. Day has a Bachelor degree in Education. She serves as one the an elite group of Train the Trainer presenters for the ACA Kindness Literacy school programs. Amelia and her family are a loving respite family for foster children waiting their permanent homes.

Barry Henry, Treasurer

Mr. Henry has an extensive background in the banking industry where he has served in a number of leadership positions including chief financial officer, comptroller and consultant.

Jody Brandenburg, Board Member

Mr. Brandenburg is President of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Homes and Cemeteries and is a nationally-recognized leader in the funeral, cremation and cemetery industry. He currently serves as Chairman of the Florida Board of Funeral, Cemetery and Consumer Services having been appointed by Governor Rick Scott.

Cynthia Williams, Board Member

Mrs. Williams is a long-time educator and recognized leader, having served as a principle in middle and high schools in the St. Johns County School District.

Cindy M. Smith, Board Member

Mrs. Smith is a television executive and has won numerous national awards for creative programming, image and network development. She is a well-known leader in the television industry.

Rebecca Diaz, Board Member

Mrs. Diaz is a Financial Sales Adviser at BBVA Compass. She serves as a volunteer for the bank by teaching financial literacy courses for students and adults throughout the community.

Bett L. Rhoden, MA, LMFT

Mr. Rhoden has 46 years of experience in the mental health field. He has a passion for helping kids find meaning and purpose in life as they overcome extreme challenges. He is a valuable expert to the ACA Board.

Rebecca Farinas, MD 

Rebecca Farinas, MD is Diplomat on American Board Psychiatry & Neurology, and Board Certifted Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist. In her practice she provides “Integrated Behavioral Medicine” services. She states, ” The dynamic interplay between neuroscience, biochemistry, stress and lifestyle choices impacts health and emotional well-being every day. My goal is to stay current on research and medical developments, educate patients and their families, and then support the decisions they make.” Her expertise is highly valued. We are honored to have her on the American Civility Association Board of Directors.
